💡 Universal PQ Tips

1. Communication is Key

Use party chat to coordinate. Call out your role before starting (leader, track jumper, combo attacker, etc.). A well-coordinated party is 2x faster than a disorganized one.

2. Know Your Role

Different classes excel at different tasks:

  • Warriors: Tank damage, combo attackers
  • Mages: AOE clearing, support
  • Archers/Assassins: Single target DPS, mobility for puzzles
  • Anyone: Can be leader if you know the route

3. Bring Potions

Always stock up before entering. Running out of potions mid-PQ means you're dead weight. Recommended: 100 HP potions, 50 MP potions (adjust for your class).

4. Watch a Clear First

If it's your first time, tell your party! Most veterans are happy to teach. You can also watch a YouTube clear or read our detailed guides above to prepare.

5. Stay Together

Don't run off solo unless the puzzle requires it. Dying alone wastes everyone's time. If you die, communicate immediately so the party can adapt.

6. Time Your Sessions

PQs are most active during peak hours (evenings, weekends). Finding parties is easier during these times. Consider joining a guild for reliable PQ groups.

Why Party Quests Are Essential

📈

Best EXP Rates

PQs offer 30-50% better EXP/hour than solo grinding at optimal levels. An experienced KPQ party can level from 21-30 in just 3-4 hours.

💰

Unique Items

Many best-in-slot items are PQ-exclusive. Spiegelmann's Necklace, Dark Scrolls, and various equipment can only be obtained through Party Quests.

👥

Community

Build friendships, join guilds, and become part of the MapleStory Classic community. Many endgame parties start as PQ groups.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Can I do PQs solo?

No, Party Quests require a minimum party size (usually 3-4 players). This is by design - PQs are meant to encourage cooperation and community building.

What if I'm out of the level range?

You won't be able to enter the PQ if you're outside the level range. If you're under-leveled, grind to the minimum level first. If you're over-leveled, you'll need to move to the next PQ tier.

How do I find a party?

Stand near the PQ entrance and use the megaphone or all-chat. Common phrases: "LF>KPQ party" (looking for), "PQ@@@" (recruiting), or "21 sin LF>KPQ" (your level, class, looking for). You can also join a guild for reliable parties.

Are PQs better than grinding?

Generally yes, within the level range. A good PQ party offers better EXP/hour than solo grinding. However, if you can't find a party or your party is inefficient, grinding might be faster. PQs also offer unique rewards that grinding doesn't.

What happens if someone leaves mid-PQ?

The party continues with fewer members, but some PQs become harder or impossible to complete. If someone leaves early, the party leader can decide to continue or forfeit and restart with a full party.

Do I need specific equipment for PQs?

Not really. Just have appropriate gear for your level and class. The most important things are: HP/MP potions, knowing the mechanics, and working well with your team. Don't worry about min-maxing gear for PQs.
