MapleStory Classic World is an official pre-Big Bang server launching in 2026. It recreates the beloved original MapleStory experience from the mid-2000s, featuring classic gameplay mechanics, slower progression, original Explorer classes (Warrior, Mage, Bowman, Thief, Pirate), and the nostalgic 2D side-scrolling MMORPG experience that millions of players remember fondly.
When is MapleStory Classic World launching?
MapleStory Classic World was officially announced in April 2025 and is scheduled to launch in 2026. The exact launch date has not been confirmed yet. Led by original MapleStory designer Nemi, this will be a permanent server, not a temporary event, ensuring long-term support and updates for the classic experience.
What does "pre-Big Bang" mean?
The Big Bang update (December 2010) was a major overhaul that dramatically changed MapleStory's gameplay. Pre-Big Bang refers to the classic era before this update, featuring slower leveling progression, the original Victoria Island and El Nath regions, classic party quests like Kerning City PQ and Ludibrium PQ, and the original skill and stat systems that made early MapleStory so memorable.
What classes will be available in Classic World?
MapleStory Classic World will feature the five original Explorer classes: Warrior (Hero, Paladin, Dark Knight), Mage (Fire/Poison, Ice/Lightning, Bishop), Bowman (Bowmaster, Marksman), Thief (Night Lord, Shadower), and Pirate (Buccaneer, Corsair). These classic job advancements at levels 10, 30, 70, and 120 defined the original MapleStory experience.
Will my current MapleStory account work?
Details about account systems for Classic World have not been fully confirmed. We expect you will be able to use your existing Nexon account, but characters and progress from regular MapleStory servers will not transfer.
